Real net worth: add real estate and vehicles to your investments

Real net worth: add real estate and vehicles to your investments

You open the app, look at your investments, add up the accounts and cards — and something feels missing. The apartment is missing. The car in the garage is missing. Two of the most valuable things you own simply don't show up on any statement, so your "net worth" always looks smaller on screen than it is in real life.

The problem is that cash in an account is easy to measure; what you own isn't. A property doesn't issue a receipt every month. A car depreciates without warning. And at tax time, those assets turn into a hunt for the right number. You can solve all of it in one place — right next to the rest of your financial life.

Real net worth includes what isn't on the statement

In the Net Worth module you register the assets that don't come from any bank: real estate, vehicles, jewelry and valuables, property abroad, stakes in companies, and more. Each asset can be personal or company-owned, so anyone running a business separates what's theirs from what belongs to the company right away — and sees both totals side by side.

The result is the number that was missing: your investments, your accounts, and what you own, actually added together. For the first time, the net worth on screen matches the net worth in your head.

For a car, the value comes from the FIPE table — no typing

Nobody knows off the top of their head what their car is worth today. So when you add a vehicle, you don't have to guess. A cascading picker walks you through it: pick the type (car, motorcycle or truck), the brand, the model and the year — and the market value is fetched automatically from the FIPE table, the official Brazilian used-vehicle price reference, complete with the reference month of the quote.

And because a car depreciates constantly, you're not stuck with the price from the day you bought it. With one click, the vehicle is re-priced from FIPE again and the new value flows into your net worth, always up to date.

The tax value isn't the net-worth value

Here's the subtlety that trips a lot of people up — and that we handle for you.

When you register an asset, the acquisition value (what you paid) is frozen. That cost figure is the one your annual asset declaration uses, because that's what the tax authority asks for: the acquisition cost, not the market price. It doesn't change on its own.

The current value — what the asset is worth today — is optional, and it does exactly one thing: it shows your real net worth on screen. It never ends up on your tax return. In other words: your property can double in value, and that shows up in your net worth without messing with the figure you report to the tax office. Every number in its right place.

A timeline, not a number you overwrite

An asset's current value isn't a field you overwrite, losing the history. It's built from a timeline of events: the acquisition, a revaluation, an improvement (that renovation that raised the property's value), a partial sale, or a full sale. Each event carries a date and a value, and the asset's current value is always the most recent one.

That changes everything when you need to justify a number. Instead of "I think it's worth this much," you have the story: when you bought it, for how much, what you did to it, what it's worth now. An auditable net worth that tells its own trajectory.

Your net worth over time, in a chart

Because each asset carries its own history, the consolidated dashboard can draw your net worth over time — a curve that shows how what you own has evolved, month by month, combining investments, accounts and assets. It's not a snapshot of today: it's the film of how you got here.

For anyone building wealth over the long run, that chart is the gauge that matters. It shows whether the needle is moving forward, and how much each decision — buying, renovating, selling — nudged the total.
